Post 126 Band Scholarship

As a way of thanking the Perquimans County High School Band for supporting our annual Memorial and Veterans Day Ceremonies, Post 126 offers a $1,000 scholarship to students meeting the following requirements:

Be a member of the PCHS graduating class

Be a member of the PCHS Band for a minimum of 3 years

Have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher

Be accepted to a 2 or 4-year college/university, or an accredited technical school of instruction, or an apprentice school

BAND SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

In grateful appreciation of the PCHS Band's participation in the Hertford Annual Memorial Day and Veteran's Day Ceremonies, the William Paul Stallings American Legion Post 126, is pleased to offer a $1,000.00 Scholarship to a deserving PCHS Band-Member for 2025. This scholarship is to be awarded to one graduating senior from the Perquimans County High School Class of 2025 who is also a member of the PCHS Band.
Eligibility requirements for the receipt of this scholarship are as follows:

Member of, 2025 PCHS graduating class

Member of the PCHS Band for a minimum of three years

Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher

Accepted to a 2-year or 4-year college/university; an accredited technical school of instruction, or an apprentice school.
Qualified individuals who would like to apply for this scholarship should fill out this application and either forward it to the Perquimans County School Foundation, or mail it to the Post Commander, American Legion Post 126, at the address above, to arrive not later than April 17, 2024.

In addition, applicants should provide any recommendation letters they may have, and provide a resume that details extra-curricular activities, memberships in other organizations, or any other information that would assist the Post 126 Scholarship Committee with selecting a qualified and deserving candidate for this award. Please include a short essay on how you felt about participating in the Memorial Day and Veteran's Day Ceremonies.
