Post 126 receives Non Profit Organization of the Year Award for 2024
Perquimans County First Responders

Perquimans County Emergency Services Tech, Wayne Jordan is presented the Department of North Carolina EMT of the Year Award for 2024

In 2023 Post 126 hosted at Legion Hall a reception for County First Responders and presented plaques to Law Enforcement, Firefighter, EMT, and 911 Operator of the Year winners. The EMT winner went on to win the Department's award as well.
In 2024, the Town of Hertford joined in and co-hosted a similar event in the County Recreation Center on September 11, 2024​
Long-Term Care Center Support
Post 126 has visited The Landings at Albemarle & the Brian Center, Long Term Care & Rehab facilities in Hertford, to support veterans​

​Members participated in 2022 Veterans Day activities bringing Service Flags, quilts, lap blankets, Vietnam service pins, and Post Certificates to veterans residing there


Community Outreach Event -2023
Post 126, in partnership with the League of Women Voters, a non-partisan organization, hosted 5 separate sessions featuring Perquimans County Government officials. Shown below is Judge Janice Cole advocating for more community involvement, and also Sheriff Shelby White providing an overview of the Perquimans County Sheriff's Office​
